Educational Philosophy
Our philosophy of “Growing Minds and Nurturing Values” reflects a commitment to
holistic early childhood education that integrates intellectual, physical, social, and
spiritual growth. The curriculum builds a strong academic foundation in mathematics,
languages, science, art, and music through a child-centered, teacher-directed
approach that nurtures individual strengths and talents.

Curriculum Approach
Daraine blends the Ugandan Learning Framework for Early Childhood Development
with elements of the British Early Years Foundation Stage. In younger classes, 80% of
activities are play-based to support essential early development. The school uses
internationally recognized methods designed to help each child realize their full
potential and experience the joy of discovery. Parents receive detailed curriculum
information and support guidance during an annual Parent Briefing (typically in the
third week of the first term).
Commitment to Children and Families
- Delivering high-quality early childhood education
- Providing a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate environment.
- Encouraging active exploration, creativity, and independence.
- Instilling values of faith, love, respect, and service.
- Partnering with families to support each child’s academic, social, and spiritual
thriving.
- Offering individual attention to every child.
Daraine Day Care and Pre-School focuses on laying a strong foundation for lifelong
learning and character development in a caring, faith-based setting.
